New IT community series supports your unique needs

Recently, you may have noticed increased learning opportunities focusing on staff development and performance management. IT Learning and Development and IT Human Resources partnered to launch three series for IT Staff over the coming calendar year—for managers, early career staff, and individual contributors—all visible from a newly launched ITS Calendar.

These series create opportunities throughout the year to connect on timely topics and business processes. For instance, between March and June, early career and individual contributors will participate in sessions on writing self-assessments, discussing their performance reviews with their managers, and setting goals. Managers will participate in sessions on these topics but with a focus on their responsibilities as supervisors. Participants will also benefit from opportunities to connect with HR, Learning and Development, and each other. Ideally, these will be spaces where each group can discuss the nuances of their professional experiences in a setting that doesn’t include those they directly supervise or who directly supervise them.

In addition to these topics, the IT Learning and Development team welcomes suggestions for other topics of interest to each group. Please contact itlearning@yale.edu with ideas for topics you would like to have covered.
