Get excited about a “Summer of Possibilities”

May 9, 2024

IT staff have many opportunities to connect and engage with peers this summer, thanks to a series of events, including ten weeks of themed “Summer of Possibilities” activities, starting Monday, June 3.

Yale Staff Spirit Week

(June 3 - 7, including Staff Appreciation Day on June 5, 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.)

Enjoy a week of activities, contests, and more. At the center of the week’s celebrations will be the Staff Appreciation Day event on Old Campus. Check the event webpage closer to the event date for additional details.

Anchor days

(June 3 - 7)

SLT members will organize meetings and activities to engage their teams. To accommodate additional on-site staff during and after anchor days, the Business Office and DSP team have created 35 new hoteling seats (23 cubicles and 12 offices), primarily on the fifth floor of 25 Science Park. Note: Eight of the offices and 11 of the cubicles are reserved for 90 days through mid-July for the Provost’s Research Administration team, who are among the new occupants utilizing hoteling space on the fifth floor. After this time, these spaces will open to IT staff and the Research Administration team.

Summer of Possibilities series

(June 3 - August 9)

Following the success of last year’s program, offering opportunities for fun and connection—from popsicles and bubbles to yoga and sand art–IT is launching a Summer of Possibilities series. Over ten weeks, IT staff will enjoy themed activities such as Imagination, Refresh, Colorful, Explore, Dream, Grow, and more. The IT Business Office will provide additional details via email and Teams as the date gets closer.

(June 6, 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)

Staff will congregate at Lighthouse Point Park, 2 Lighthouse Road in New Haven, for delicious bites, swag, games, and ocean breezes. Additionally, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages will be offered by Bourassa Catering & Events.
