Public Safety Advisory-Robbery 214 Canner Street

A message from Chief Anthony Campbell

To the Yale Community,

I write to let you know of a robbery that occurred at approximately 11:00 pm in the vicinity of 214 Canner Street. A Yale affiliate was walking in the area when he was approached by an unknown male, approximately 6’, wearing black clothing on a bicycle. The man demanded the victim’s property and insinuated that he had a weapon by keeping a hand in his pocket. The affiliate gave his wallet and the man fled north on Whitney on the bicycle. No weapons were displayed, and no physical injuries were reported. The Yale Police are investigating. The Yale Police have increased patrols near the area and are working with the New Haven Police to identify the individual responsible.
