Update: Purchasing PPE supplies through SciQuest

January 27, 2021

As previously communicated in October 2020, the University has centrally procured Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplies in bulk that individual labs, departments, or units were having difficulty sourcing. Researchers and clinicians requiring additional PPE specific to their research program, such as disposable gloves, disposable isolation gowns, etc., may continue to procure select PPE supplies through the SciQuest hosted catalog named “COVID-19 Stockroom at Yale University.”

PLEASE NOTE: Individuals seeking N95 masks are required to contact Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) directly.  N95 masks are a specialized commodity and require a more rigorous assessment to determine appropriateness. Once it is determined that an N95 respirator is necessary for a given job function, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA) regulation requires a test fit be completed before the mask can be distributed.

If an individual feels that an N95 mask is required for their job function, they should contact EHS directly at EHS@yale.edu or call the main office at 203-785-3550.

For instructions on ordering PPE supplies through the “COVID-19 Stockroom at Yale University” catalog in SciQuest.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the availability of PPE and other research supplies, plesae contact Yale Purchasing at 203 432-9955 or purchasing.helpdesk@yale.edu.
