Summary
Basecamp will be discontinued as an ITS service offering on Thursday, September 1. Basecamp has seen declining usage at Yale, and its administrative tooling has not been updated to meet modern enterprise standards.
Details
All projects will be archived and available in a read-only state until June 30, 2023, when all data will become inaccessible without the potential for recovery.
- Yale ITS recommends that individuals download any files and recreate any required content through other tools before June 30, 2023. Basecamp does not offer adequate tools to export or migrate individual projects.
- ITS recommends using Teams, Planner, and SharePoint, to replace the functionality found in Basecamp. Visit the Microsoft 365 service page for feature overviews and training.
