Policy 1315 Effort Reporting: Certifying Effort on Sponsored Projects received a few very minor language updates for the purpose of clarity and to update position titles. It does not contain any new requirements.
Procedure 1315 PR.04 Effort Reporting received updates as well. As a reminder, effort reports are expected to be certified within 60 calendar days from the date of the availability notification. This requirement is not new, but it directly relates to the updated escalation process contained in the procedure. This updated escalation process, originally communicated in the October 13, 2022 OSP Brown Bag and the October 20, 2022 OSP News & Updates, is specifically tailored to FRMS, YSM, and all other departments. It includes escalation communications to listed individuals still being sent on day 10, 30, and 60 days overdue. At the 60-day escalation point, individuals are informed of the intent to write off any effort that remains uncertified at day 75. This procedure also received minor changes to language for clarification and updates to the FAQs, including updated links.
The instructions to Form 1315 FR.01 Effort Report (but not the form itself) also received updates. In particular, the instructions now specify acceptable signature types when a manual Effort Report is completed.
