Participate in a June MSS / SPA Improvement Focus Group

June 9, 2023

Earlier this week, the Information Security Office shared a communication inviting the IT at Yale community to our upcoming focus groups. In case you missed it, we hope you’ll join us.

The Minimum Security Standards (MSS) and Security Planning Assessment (SPA) are two key aspects of the Yale Information Security Program.

In March, the Information Security Office (ISO) reorganized  Yale’s Minimum Security Standards (MSS). This was previously announced in the March 9 edition of IT Update. The reorganization aims to consolidate standards and increase comprehension.

To further clarify the MSS and Security Planning Assessment, the ISO invites you to attend one of our June MSS / SPA Improvement Focus Groups.

The focus groups will ask targeted questions about how to improve the MSS and the SPA process. The sessions will utilize Mural, an online whiteboarding tool, and open discussion around the barriers to completing these fundamental aspects of our Information Security Program.

To share your feedback, please register for one of the following sessions:

  • Wednesday, June 14 – 2:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 21 – 10:00 a.m.
  • Thursday, June 22 – 2:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 29 – 10:00 a.m.
  • Friday, June 30 – 11:00 a.m.

Having trouble finding time in your schedule to attend? Fill out our MSS/SPA Improvement survey to provide your feedback on your own time.

Thank you for your input to help enhance the MSS and SPA processes.
