IT resumes recruiting for entry-level and early career professionals

October 12, 2023

With students back on campus, recruitment has resumed for entry-level and early-career IT positions. This year’s focus includes reaching a larger pool of prospective candidates by creating a presence at several local colleges and universities including attending job fairs, information sessions at Computer Science and Information Systems club meetings, and conducting on-campus interviews.

The Talent Acquisition team, comprised of Sarah Hauswirth and Alina Colossale, works closely and in partnership with others to attend in-person events. These include SLT members, hiring managers, HR partners, including Katie Cullen and Kaila Carroll, and current and past early career program participants. These interactions allow students to talk directly with IT professionals, ask questions, and learn more about working at Yale.

The current strategy is to attract high school, college, and recent graduates to create a pipeline of IT Early Career Program candidates. These will fill regular full-time roles, participate in the Wolson Rotational Early Career Development Program (ECDP), and may eventually stay on as full-time IT staff. Since September, the team has attended three events at Yale, Central Connecticut State University, and UConn and will attend additional events throughout the fall.

The IT Careers website contains additional program timelines, eligibility, and application details. If you know anyone who would be an ideal candidate for one of these roles, please invite them to visit the website and apply.
