Please join us in welcoming the newest members of our HR community:

Jessica Barajas has joined our New Haven Hiring Initiative team as an administrative assistant. She joined us as a participant in our inaugural Bridge to Employment (B2E) program, a collaborative effort between NHHI, New Haven Works, and Local 34. With a solid background as a medical assistant at Yale New Haven Health spanning 10 years, Jessica harbored career ambitions of transitioning into an administrative role. Eager to bolster her skill set, Jessica dedicated the last four months to gaining administrative skills and experience through her B2E assignment with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. A devoted resident of New Haven, Jessica is deeply rooted in the community she loves and eagerly anticipates the opportunity to contribute to the New Haven and Yale community. Beyond her professional pursuits, Jessica leads a dynamic life as a professional photographer, entrepreneur, and proud mother of an active and bright two-year-old (Nico), and eagerly looks forward to the opportunity to contribute to the HR community.

Dae Blackman recently joined Yale Temporary Staffing Services (YTSS) as an Administrative Assistant, reporting to Kristen Maloney. In this role, Dae will be assigned to a diverse range of departments across the university in temporary assignments as an Administrative Assistant. Prior to joining YTSS, Dae participated in the New Haven Hiring Initiative’s inaugural Bridge to Employment (B2E) program, a collaborative effort between the NHHI, New Haven Works, and Local 34. Dae dedicated the last four months to gaining administrative skills through her B2E assignment as an Administrative Assistant in the Employee Service Center, where she served as a primary point of contact for all visitors at 221 Whitney Avenue, handling frequently asked questions, directing visitors to the I-9 Center and parking office, and other administrative duties. Dae holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Southern Connecticut State University.
