Marissa Brooks has joined the Employee Service Center team as a Customer Service Representative, reporting to Eileen Pepe. Marissa will act as the first point of contact at the Welcome Center, will provide administrative support, and serve as a source of information to students, staff, and faculty on policies, procedures, and office activities.

Tiffany Reyes has joined the Talent Acquisition team as the Talent Acquisition Strategic Sourcing Director, reporting to Janet Gipson, Head of Talent Acquisition. As the TA Strategic Sourcing Director, Tiffany will develop and execute the Strategic Sourcing strategy for TA with accountability for the team’s efficiency and outcomes. Tiffany will lead this key aspect of the Talent Acquisition team and get to build best-in-class capabilities around the top-of-funnel prospect and candidate engagement, recruitment marketing strategies, diverse pipeline curation, and maturation. Tiffany comes from SYSCO where she served as a Director of Talent Acquisition and Sourcing. She has over 10 years of experience in the Human Resources and Talent Acquisition field and holds a master’s degree from Villanova University in Human Resources Development, along with an MBA from the University of Hartford.

Katharine Robinson has joined Human Resources as a Sr. Labor Relations Representative reporting to Joe Sarno. As a Sr. Labor Relations Representative, Katharine will be responsible for managing the university’s relationship with Local 33, the union that represents the University’s graduate and professional student workers. In her role, she will provide support and guidance to her HR colleagues, faculty, administrators, and staff on all matters related to Local 33. She also will help ensure compliance with the University’s collective bargaining agreement with Local 33, deliver manager training, and provide advice on complex labor relations matters. Katharine comes to Yale with over nine years of HR and labor relations experience. Most recently, she worked as a Sr. HR Business Partner for the city of Los Angeles. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from California State University, Fullerton.

Promotions

Yale Human Resources is pleased to announce these recent promotions:

Megan Buda has been promoted to Associate Director, Learning and Development Operations. Megan joined the OESD team on December 1, 2022, as the Learning Experience Manager and, as part of the Learning Strategic Initiative (LSI), immersed herself in the work of creating a functional model for Learning and development standards for all Yale staff. Megan has been a vital part of the successful launch this past January 2024 of the LSI. In her expanded role, Megan will lead the OESD team’s operational support to functions across Yale as they build out their learning strategies and make use of Workday Learning and our new standard processes and templates. In addition, Megan will oversee operations support (logistical, technology, and analytical support) as we grow our central L&D offerings. Anyone who has the pleasure of working with Megan will attest to her genuine passion for this work and can-do attitude along with a great sense of humor!

Ashlee Ciliberti has been promoted to Configuration Analyst 2 in HRISS, reporting to Jonas Lee, Manager of People Analytics and Talent Insights, HRISS. Ashlee will be transitioning into this role having served as an HR Administrative Coordinator for over two years.

Marinda Monfilston has been promoted to Manager of Affinity Group Development and Community Engagement. Marinda joined Yale University on August 11, 2014, and currently works as Senior Diversity Coordinator reporting to Deborah Stanley-McAulay, Associate Vice President for Employee Engagement and Workplace Culture. In Marinda’s expanded role, she will design, coordinate, and track an annual learning and development strategy for the affinity group leaders and steering committee members with a key focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and retention. Additionally, she will create a higher education affinity group/employee resource group consortium in partnership with Greater New Haven employers, with a focus on higher education.

Carmen Piza has been promoted to Associate Director of Investigations and Compliance. Carmen has been a valued member of the Employee Relations team since 2018. She has primarily supported Hospitality during her years at Yale, conducting more than 150 investigations annually with effective organization, poise, emotional intelligence, and professionalism. Carmen’s proven ability to investigate complex matters, draft clear, comprehensive fact-finding reports, navigate difficult conversations, and influence all stakeholders effectively and independently in challenging situations made her an ideal fit for this role. Carmen has been working as a human resources professional since 2010. Immediately before joining Yale, she was employed by ABM, where she received formal and comprehensive workplace investigations training and conducted complex investigations throughout the Northeast and the United States.

Fallon Thomas has been promoted to Community Outreach and Engagement Manager. Fallon joined Yale University on June 1, 2015, and currently works as a New Haven Hiring Initiative Community Liaison, reporting to Chris Brown, Director - New Haven Community Hiring Initiatives. As Community Outreach Manager, Fallon will focus on designing, implementing, executing, and assessing strategic community engagement programs and outreach to support the goals of the New Haven Hiring Initiative, including Yale’s New Haven Promise Internships.

We are thrilled to announce the promotions of Ali D’Amico, Gerald Sorenson, Tanyah Hunter, and Alina Ozimek due to their expanded roles on the Talent Acquisition team in support of the Recruiting Strategic Initiative (RSI). Effective February 1, 2024, the TA team was reorganized to accommodate an improved service delivery level to the university and applicants for staff hires. Specifically, their new roles are:

  • Ali D’Amico, Director, Talent Acquisition
    Leads the Talent Partner teams focused on the recruitment of highly qualified talent into university staff roles. Responsible for staff hires across all planning units within Yale, Ali will partner with the relevant stakeholders to develop recruitment strategies for successful hiring outcomes.
  • Gerald Sorenson, Talent Acquisition Pod Team Lead
    Leads Pod 4, Functional Support Services. Continuing to report to Ali, Gerald will serve as a player-coach to Talent partners on his team to lead them to successful recruiting outcomes for his planning units.
  • Tanyah Hunter, Administrative Services Team Lead
    As Administrative Services Team Lead, Tanyah will expand her operational expertise and lead the team of Talent Acquisition Coordinators in the critical areas of requisition management, job offer creation, and background check/pre-boarding processes.
  • Alina Ozimek, Program Manager, Talent Acquisition
    Serving as our Program Manager within the Talent Scouting team, Alina Ozimek will focus on the programmatic talent sourcing engagements related to early career, affinity groups, and other specialty talent pools as well as establish new channels that will expand access to diverse talent.

We are thrilled to announce the well-deserved promotions of Anat Yogev, Candice van Emmenes, Courtney McCarthy, Georgia Massell, and Lauren Slater to the role of Associate Director of Employee Relations.

These promotions come as a result of a reorganization at the ER leadership level and signify not only recognition of their broader scope and responsibility but also trust in their continued ability to take on expanded projects both with their client groups and broader university initiatives. The Associate Directors will continue to play an important role in guiding the strategy of our department and with the clients. Their contributions are instrumental in the functioning of the Employee Relations team, support for leaders across the Yale community, and the successful execution of large-scale university projects including compensation strategy, recruiting and culture initiatives, and workforce engagement.
