All staff who can work at home should continue to do so. Only with an explicit request from a supervisor should a staff member return to campus. For more information, review COVID-19 Workplace Guidance.
Your First Day
Complete Your I-9 documentation
Please submit proof of your identity and employability. This is required by federal law and needed to create your employment file. The I-9 form can be completed electronically in Workday:
- Click on Workday
- Click on Getting Started. The I-9 form can be accessed via your checklist.
Section 1 — employee information and verification — must be completed no later than the end of your first day of work. By the end of your third day of work, be sure to submit your proof of identity and employment eligibility to Employee Services. To do so, please follow instructions on the Submitting your I-9 Form page.
Obtain Your University ID and Parking
If you are on campus, you may obtain your ID on your start date at one of the locations listed below, or if you have worked in a temporary or casual status, approximately 10 days after your start date. Please visit the ID Center website for the latest hours and instructions for obtaining your ID.
Yale has a fee-based parking program. Currently, it is not necessary to request parking. When normal campus operations resume, please complete the parking application. The parking application will request information available on the reverse side of your Yale ID so you will need to obtain that in advance of completing the application. Once you have completed the application, you will be notified of your parking assignment and receive a parking sticker to display on your vehicle. If you have questions, please contact the parking office of your choice listed below. Read more about parking, commuting options, and campus transit services at Yale. If you are unsure of where to park on your first day, please contact your supervisor.
