  • On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, Microsoft Teams will be modified by ITS to allow external user communication.
  • You will be able to call, chat, and set up meetings with people external to the University who use Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business and are also using open communication OR that has added Yale’s domain to their allow list.

In 2022, Yale will transition to a new Graduate Student Funding (GSF) process, replacing the Graduate Student Payment System (GSPS) with Banner, Workday, and a new data warehouse and datamart. Graduate students, faculty, and staff that support graduate funding will be impacted by this change.

Please take 5 minutes to view the Graduate Student Funding Awareness video, which provides a high-level overview of the project and demonstrates the new system.

On Tuesday November 16, Yale will replace our existing antivirus solution, Cylance, with a more capable endpoint production solution, Crowdstrike Falcon. Crowdstrike Falcon uses a lightweight sensor tested to use fewer system resources than Cylance while offering significant new security capabilities.

The Falcon sensor is already installed on most workstations and will be remotely enabled with no user interaction required.

Important changes are being made to the amount of time Yale will retain Zoom recordings. Please take the appropriate actions now to ensure you retain access to your critical recordings. The IT support teams are here to assist as you take the steps to extend retention of your Zoom cloud recordings.

Effective November 1, 2021, Yale University will implement a new cloud storage retention policy for all Zoom recordings.

A new training module for the FY22 ITS Balanced Scorecard is live in TMS. This course was developed in support of our FY22 balanced scorecard goals and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.The rollout of this training is aligned to coincide with FY22 goal-setting, which should now be completed.
