Enterprise Monitoring provides multiple tools and solutions to help monitor the availability and health of your systems and services. To help community members know what services are available and how to use these tools, we host multiple recurring meetings. Every Tuesday we run an Enablement Session and open the floor to anyone with an Enterprise Monitoring question. Every 2nd and 4th Thursday we run a Coaching Session focused on tool training and solving for real world monitoring needs.

In early 2021, ITS Cloud Engineering completed the initial configuration of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for low-risk data and began offering projects in Yale’s GCP organization to early adopters. GCP is now included as part of the Cloud Support service offering.

Summary

  • Yale ITS is partnering with the Office of Public Affairs & Communications on a multi-year project to transition YaleSites, Yale’s web-publishing service, hosted on Drupal 7 to an upgraded version—Drupal 9.
  • The upgrade will be available to all current YaleSites administrators and departments currently hosting websites on other platforms. (This service is not available to organizations within the Yale School of Medicine.)

Working on an aggressive timeline, over 1,400 Cisco phone systems were successfully installed, replacing all Nortel, Avaya, and Cortelco telephones. Focused on the Amistad and Seamco buildings, The Anlyan Center, 2 Church Street South, 100 Church Street South, and 40-60 Temple Street, the work to replace the legacy PBX equipment began in March and came to a close in July.

The Change Advisory Board asks individuals responsible for managing changes to keep the following blackout dates in mind while planning and scheduling activities over the next several weeks:

  • Monday, August 23 through Tuesday, August 31: Student move-in, for those in residence
  • Wednesday, September 1: Classes start

These dates are to be observed for Changes that could impact systems required for the activities listed.

Electronic signature adoption has increased in popularity and need due to remote working and the speedy pace of doing business. The health campuses at Yale have a great need for such a solution on documents such as attestation statements, data use agreements, and federal regulatory compliance documentation from the Food and Drug Administration.

Details

Yale ITS will perform planned maintenance on the PaperCut service from 7:00 - 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. Printing through PaperCut will not be available during this time.

**** Rescheduled****

ITS has rescheduled the transition of the on-premises mail relays to the Microsoft cloud to occur from July 27 - 29. This change will improve mail security, reduce complexity, and decrease the overall cost of the mail service.
