The ITS Leadership Team and the ITS Climate, Culture, and Inclusion (CCI) Task Force continue to make workplace improvements through the nine separate initiatives derived from the 2019 Workplace Survey results.
Between February 12 and March 11, teams working on these initiatives have accomplished the following:
Hosted by the IT Staff Development team, Yale’s IT Academy consists of a robust speaker series, recommended online training offerings, and learning events to support the professional growth and staff development of Yale’s IT community.
By early February, all ITS team members should have given or received their mid-year reviews. For M&P staff, reviews inform merit or salary recommendations, while Local 34 team members’ increases are established within their contract.
On Thursday, March 4, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m., join a webinar open to and co-presented by Yale’s IT community and affinity groups. The webinar features Karen Catlin, author of “Better Allies” and Yale’s Chief Information Officer John Barden. This fireside chat will cover key points from Karen’s book, “Better Allies: Everyday Actions to Create Inclusive, Engaging Workplaces.” In this open conversation, we’ll talk about the challenges that staff members from different ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, ages, and abilities face in the workplace and how to take action as an ally.
As a reminder, we have entered the development phase of ITS’s Performance Management cycle, which includes conducting a mid-year performance review. In addition, this year’s (FY21) rating and rewarding phase for M&P staff will be accellerated. The effective date for merit increases for eligible M&P staff will return to July 1.
The Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) is a National Science Foundation-funded virtual organization that integrates and coordinates the sharing of advanced digital services, including supercomputers and high-end visualization and data analysis resources, with researchers nationally to support science.
